12.11.13 - IMPORTANT NOTICE - TILA Applications close 5.00pm 3 December 2013
Due to the changes that have recently been made to the TILA programme that come into effect on 1 January 2014, all applications must be complete and received by Southern Youth and Family Services by 5.00pm, 3 December 2013 in order to be processed prior to the new requirements coming into effect. Information about the new TILA arrangements will be available on the Department of Social Services website soon.
23.08.13 - IMPORTANT NOTICE - TILA CHANGES effective 1 January 2014
On 12 August 2013, Minister for Community Services Julie Collins, announced via a campaign media release, changes to the Transition to Independent Living Allowance (TILA) effective from 1 January 2014.
For young people and their referring workers, the changes will mean young people exiting informal care living arrangements including crisis and medium-term specialist homelessness services, juvenile justice, informal out-of-home-care and those in the care of a relative, will no longer be able to access TILA from 1 January 2014.
