FAQ Limits?
? Are there any limits on what I can buy with the TILA allowance?
A Yes there are. The following items have a limit and if purchased the Quote total cannot be more than this amount regardless of whether you would like to pay the balance above the limit:
- TVs have a limit of $700.
- Mobile Phones have a limit of $300.
? Are there any limits on other items?
A Not as such. We recommend referring workers discuss with the young person items sought and focus on achieving value for money. An example where this has not occurred is a $1,500 fridge especially where there are other items which need to be purchased.
? Are there items that may not be purchased with the TILA allowance?
A The following list of items may not be purchased with the TILA allowance:
- Nintendo Wii, Playstation, XBox or any other gaming or portable gaming console
- Computer games, DVDs, Music CDs
- iPods, iPod mini-systems and/or accessories
- Stereos, Speakers, Home Theatre Systems, Stereo Amplifiers and Receivers, Blue-Ray Players
The above items are not a complete list of items which may not be approved. TILA staff reserve the right to refuse items which do not meet the intent of the TILA allowance. Referring workers will be contacted and requested to contact the young person to discuss alternatives.
